Winter Care

Scalp and hair care. Our tips in winter.

Humidity is lower in winter than in summer. In other words, the air can absorb less moisture and is drier. Also indoors when the heating season begins.

We usually feel this change first and foremost on our mucous membranes, such as our lips, which now need much more care. But our scalp and hair are also directly exposed to the dry air and can react to it. Thus, it often happens that we tend to have a dry scalp and dandruff with the change into the cold season.

We have put together some useful tips for you on how to support your scalp and hair in winter.

Tip #1 - Don't shower too hot!

Like our skin on the body, our scalp also has a natural protective acid mantle that can be attacked by showering that is too hot. If this natural protective layer of our scalp is destroyed, it can lead to dehydration of our scalp. The result can be itching and dandruff.

Tip #2 - Gentle Cleansing!

Surfactants with a very high cleaning power can degrease your scalp and hair and free it from valuable, protective lipids. Pay attention to a mild cleansing that protects your scalp!

The right pH between 4.5 and 5.5 also plays an essential role in the health of our scalp. Products with a significantly higher pH value can disturb this balance and thus the natural protection against bacteria and fungi.

Tip #3 - Leave-In Care, Your Best Friend During Winter.

Did you know that oils take several hours to penetrate hair?!Because a leave-in stays in the hair, it can continue to work and provide your hair with some much-needed care.

In addition, it makes sense to adapt the care to the seasons and the changed climatic conditions. This does not necessarily mean that you have to buy completely different products. During the cold season, for example, you can simply increase the dose of Amazing Curls Leave-In Cream and give your curls a richer care.

Tip #4 - Protect your head!

A simple tool to protect your scalp is the good, tried-and-true wool hat. This is not only good for keeping you warm, it also shields your hair a little from the harsher environmental influences such as cold, wind and weather. However, make sure that the inner lining is smooth so that your hair is not roughened by coarse materials.

With these simple tips for your winter hair care, your hair and scalp should get through the winter well.
